Best Polaroid/similar camera for 10 year old

Considering buying a Polaroid type camera for DS 10th birthday; he loves to take pictures and has a reasonable eye - though he is rather snap happy!

Are the cost of print cartridges too ridiculous to consider? Is there a brand other than Polaroid to consider? Best model for his age? Any hints appreciated.

My niece got one for her birthday which she loved but the cartridges are expensive so she was only taking 'special' photos with it. She took one of the family in which we all ended up having spooky smudged faces like some kind of haunted victorian family so she got disappointed about that. If your son is snap happy I think you'd be better off with a digital camera and ordering prints or photo books of his favourites.

My Dd has one (that has been discontinued) which has a digital screen too and you can chose which photos you want to print. It also links up to an app on my mobile and I can print off there too. It’s definitely saved us money on film - so my recommendation would be to look for something similar.
