Is there a thread for nervous GCSE parents?

That’s it really - DD’s results are out at 8.30am
tomorrow and I’m much more nervous than she is.

Her predictions were ok - I think it’s more that it’s bringing back my feelings about getting exam
results 😬

Yes, DS gets his at 09:00. His predicted grades were amazing, but since he put very little effort in and is relying on being naturally clever I'm not expecting him to actually get anywhere near the predicted grades! I hope I'm wrong...

Can i join? DS has already had one result (IGCSE) which went according to plan but he's only done the number of exams he needs to enter 6th form college and we are nervous about maths and whether he will get the required grade. He has been home educated due to additional needs and I'm desperate for him to make the grades and to reenter the formal education system after a long period of being out (6 years). We have to collect the results from the exam centre between 9 & 11 tomorrow.

We are nervously waiting for 8:30 am tomorrow. DS has to get high grades to stay at his current school and slightly lower to get into another grammar in the area. If not we will be going around all of the local sixth forms hoping they will accept a late application for admission. We tried to persuade him to apply for an offer at a non selective school but he refused. He's suddenly very anxious!

@Gumbo Agh, the coasting! Also worried about that. Although I suspect A levels may bite harder on her arse like they did with me.

@lifeturnsonadime Everything crossed for you and your DS! It’s the feeling that so much rides on the results that’s doing me in. We have an idea of one result too - just depends where the trade boundaries end up.

Yes, we’re in the same position as @Gumbo Hopefully all will be well.

We are waiting too! I'm dropping dd at school tomorrow at 9!

My dd had the last 6 months of school as she has anorexia but it also a huge high achiever and wants to study science at uni so is desperately hoping for high grades in sciences 🤞🤞🤞🤞
