What to expect from cleaner

I've arranged for a cleaner to come to my house next week. Having never had one before, I'm not sure what to expect from them. Realistically, in 2 and a half hours, what should I expect to be done? I'm guessing that hoovering, mopping and polishing of tables/sides is a given. Is there anything else I'm missing? I've tried finding out online but had so many different answers that it just left me more confused. I just don't want to have unrealistic expectations.

A lot depends on the size of your house, we have a medium sized 3 bed. I'd expect 2.5 hours to allow a cleaner to:

Hoover
Mop hard floors
Do bathrooms (x2) including loo, basin, shower, bath.
Dust within arms reach (i.e. not scale the walls to get to top shelves).
Plump sofas and cushions.
Make beds (they would already be made, but she makes them better).
Clean kitchen surfaces and sink.

We always tidy in advance, there's never washing up, or stuff around - but she somehow makes it tidier.

@Throwawaytoday Thanks. Mine's a similar size so it's good to know what I can expect.

I agree with you both! My cleaner hoovers, mops, dust, makes the beds, cleans the kitchen, both bathrooms, and irons for an hour. We are over the moon with what she does. We use CherryTopServices and have recommend them to our friends too.
