Ideas for my 6 year old

Dd turns 6 really soon. I have absolutely no idea what to get her and am hoping that mumsnet might be able to help with ideas that have gone down well with similar children.

The problem is that I can't really tell you anything that she really likes to play with.
She loves animals and would love a hamster or guinea pig but they are not possible.
Plays with her soft toys a lot but has loads.
Enjoys her rocking horse.
Loves craft, writing, books but has a lot of this kind of stuff.
Enjoys making dens and I have considered a den making kit but they are all a bit crap.
Has lots of silvanian families stuff at my parents house.
Isn't into dolls etc
Has a kindle but can take or leave it most of the time.
We have no outdoor space left.

Please help.... 🙂

My 6yo is still very into playdoh, kinetic sand, glitter tattoos, her baby doll (Baby Annabel is the best, albeit expensive, and makes creepy noises but she loves her), her Silver cross pram for said doll, bead necklace/bracelet making, having a small diary she can write 'secrets' in, and cosy things - snuggly blankets, small pillows, things like that. Oh, and her skateboard.

Is that any help?!

Adopt an animal? Where you get photo updates? Zoo/farm annual pass?

Do you have a budget in mind? I have a 6 year old with similar interests although we've got a pet rat but she'd have a zoo given the chance.

Thank you so much for answering. All of the ideas do help.
I don't have a particular budget. If it's not manageable for us alone then other family will happily chip in.

I do like the idea of an animal adoption but I worry that she is too young to understand and may feel like she hasn't had a birthday present.

She is so tricky.

We recently bought these for our 5 yr old and 7 yr old nephews and they loved them.

What about an experience otherwise. Day out swimming somewhere with lots of slides etc followed by movie & popcorn?!

Given my 6 year old’s ‘best present’ last Xmas was a pack of plain envelopes I’m not sure how good my suggestions are…

But how about: Lego, board games (we like cooperative ones like Forbidden Island although DS2 (6) is currently obsessed with Ticket to Ride), a magazine subscription (Beano very popular here)?

Her favourite Christmas present from last year was a hole punch so... 🤔

My 6yo has a lot of the pets alive as we can’t have pets and she loves them, feeds them all puts them all to bed at night and crayola items. The thing she loves mostly is Movie time with just the girls, so we have “girlie” time which is just me her popcorn and a visit to the Cinema. Have a lovely time l love this age.

An animal experience like zoo keeper for a day?

Heartofglass12345 · 23/08/2022 23:56

My boys love Lego, and my youngest is 6 and loves science sets, there are lots of different ones with different things they can do with you. Would she like something like that? I've added some photos so you know what I'm on about haha
