why is my computer running at 100%?

Please help. Why does task manager say my computer is running at 100% cpu when i am not doing anything on it. When I try to use it it is so slow. Thank you

Mine was doing that, it was really struggling to do anything and "churning" the whole time. Got it checked out and the hard drive was corrupted. Cost me £100 to get it replaced and it's running fine now.
