I have sweated an ocean from my head this Summer

And it's got me think

....thinking why we don't have antiperspirant for our heads.
Anyone got any tips?

Wish I knew

I found myself looking up anti perspirant shampoos this summer but no luck.

I'd wonder if botox is an option but I can't afford that!

FindingMeno · 23/08/2022 20:35

It's far more of a problem for me than underarm perspiration.
My head sweat trickles down my face and back!

Same here! It's my forehead that I seem to sweat the most from.

CookPassBabtridge · 23/08/2022 20:37

I've never had head sweat until this summer and I used to live in the Middle East! Awful feeling.
I wonder if that face/body cooling spray would help at least 🤔

JasperJohnsPaintbrush · 23/08/2022 20:48

It's truly a thing - hyperhidrosis head. I've had it for years, and have done everything from practically shaving my head to dunking my head in buckets of iced water in desperation to freeze my follicles (true). Had to give that one up though as it made me somewhat dizzy!
This years effort has been sage tablets. Not sure if they work or not as they gave me chronic wind, so had to give them up.

Have a look at this website below and hopefully it may offer help to some/all of you.

Me too! Apparently sertraline makes it worse which is annoying!

minipie · 23/08/2022 20:52

hmm… people have Botox into their armpits for excessive sweating so maybe forehead botox would work? With a side effect of stopping wrinkles…!

Sorry to burst your bubble but my Botox has done sod all to stop the sweating. I'm ringing the doctor for HRT tomorrow.

I sweat rivers on my face. This year I googled face antiperspirants (never occurred to me before!) and found two that work. Neat 3B Face Saver Gel stops me sweating completely but I’m not sure my skin could tolerate it every day. Nivea Dry Comfort Deodorant Cream (75ml tube) is more like a normal anti perspirant. I still sweated a bit at 35 degrees but nothing like normal, totally manageable. Used it every day on holiday, applied to face in evening when cool after a shower. No more sweat running down my face was wonderful.

PointersPlease · 23/08/2022 21:29

Do we think HRT will help? Ive read about water retention tablets working I think but not sure i want to try that

babyboyHarrison · 23/08/2022 22:02

I used to use odaban. Just Googled and it seems you can use it on your head so maybe that would help.

Pixiedust1234 · 23/08/2022 22:50

For the first time ever I used my rollon antiperspirant across the top of my forehead to stop the sweat running down my my face. Its a freaking miracle! Also used it for the groin area and my knickers were definitely less um....wringout wet. Please note I used a different bottle on my face. I'm not that gross 😂

Leafy3 · 23/08/2022 22:54

Some helpful things here to check out.

My problem isn't so much my face but my scalp - I have very thick curly hair, but never experienced my scalp swearing before this summer!

mumofpickles · 23/08/2022 23:01

Same here I ha been using a neck fan which had helped a bit odaban made my skin too sore I am going to try the nivea cream recommended by a PP

parkslice · 23/08/2022 23:16

@Ermengarde can I ask where you got the Nivea tube from, please? I've just googled and not come up with much. I've had such a sweaty face all summer that I'm desperate!

Ermengarde · 24/08/2022 07:00

@parkslice It was here on Amazon https://amzn.eu/d/5FFTHF0 and I paid £5 on prime only 2 months ago. But you’re right it doesn’t look as available now. I think it’s actually just a normal antiperspirant, but because it comes in a tube it’s easier to apply like face cream.

If I can’t get it again I think I will honestly try my usual anti perspirant (Sure Max) or maybe a Dove/Simple stick one. Just whatever has least perfume. The Nivea one did have a scent and I was nervous putting it on my face but miraculously it was ok, I think others might be just as good 🤞
