School fines for attendance - how long does it normally take to receive the fine?

Took DC out of school for 2 weeks at the end of the summer term - totally appreciating that there was a good chance we would get fined for it.

Any idea how long it normally takes to receive the fine from the council (i.e.how long before we can comfortably believe that they are not fining us)?

Is it likely to be delayed because of the summer holidays?

We did receive fines 🙄 they arrived about 3 months after our holiday so was a bit of a shock after so long!

It was £120 per parent per child so, one child was £240.

I work in a school and process these. The sch normally process referrals to county the day your holiday ends but no later than 4 weeks after your return. It depends then how much of a backlog county have, before you are issued with your penalty notice.
