Is this Facebook marketplace buyer fake?

Trying to sell a sofa. Had a message asking if it’s still available, where it was originally from and if he can come tomorrow to collect at lunchtime. I said fine. But then looked at his profile - no friends, no posts or info at all, profile pic is a cartoon character and the account is only 2 months old. Plus he hasn’t asked for my address.

So I’m assuming he’s not genuine - but if so, what is his aim? Do you think he’ll eventually send me one of those “ sorry can’t collect it myself but will send my FedEx driver…” scam-type messages?

I have no posts on FB, no friends and only made an account last month to join FB marketplace.

I’m genuine and have just sold a baby carrier to a woman yesterday and I’m not trying to sell my old buggy. Not everyone uses FB and they may have made an account solely for marketplace just like me.

Just see what happens. Maybe he’ll ask for the address later on today or tomorrow or maybe he’ll be a no show. Usually when it’s the scam of sending DHL or something round, they normally have that as their starting message

Ok feel pretty bad now…he asked my address and I replied sorry, it’s no longer available. He was annoyed and said he’d arranged for a friend to bring his van to come and help him collect it.
I just felt really uneasy giving him my address when his profile didn’t look genuine but I feel like he probably was the real deal… Think I’ve decided FB selling isn’t for me - I’m clearly not comfortable dealing with strangers plus I don’t want to mess anyone around so I don’t think I’ll use it again!

I think you've acted badly actually, if I was the buyer I'd be pretty annoyed too.
If someoneuses FB only for marketplace they don't need to have any friends or posts

You should have told him straight away that it was no longer available when you changed your mind, he didn't need your address until he was sure of when he could collect so I can see why he hant asked

Wow, I think better safe than sorry.
