Passport turnaround time

We've had a bit of a rough year, and no real r&r time. Thinking of booking a last-minute overseas trip at October half term, but the DC's passports have expired. I won't book anything without passports (ha! I've been on here far too long to do that), but does anyone have a feel for how long child passport renewals are taking at the moment?

Not sure re child’s but I did mine and it took about two weeks to come back. I do think it’s hit and Miss though, I’ve heard of some people waiting 8 weeks ish.

I've just done DDs and it came back this morning. I ordered it online on 5th august so pretty quick.

It's really variable.

My renewal (adult) took just three weeks. Others have been stuck in a Kafakaesque nightmare for three months or more.
