Ridiculous Q - how often do you find a spider on you?

I find them on me all the time. In my hair. On my arms, hands, shoulders. In my car especially as they often live in the wing mirrors. I like spiders a lot, so I’m not afraid but it seems to happen almost every day!!! I wonder if I attract them 😳

is this a usual thing?! Or just happening to me?!

Once in recent memory. About three years ago one fell on me as I opened the front door to go in the house. Thought I shook it off as I couldn't see it (it was one of the big house spiders), then I found it on me (in the opposite arm, so it had crawled across my back!) about ten minutes later.

RayneDance · 22/08/2022 21:32

About three times, resulting in utter shock, heart racing, screaming etc

ILIWYS · 22/08/2022 21:34

I can only remember it happening twice in my life (once was a few months ago) and I'm late forties!

Velvetbee · 22/08/2022 21:45

Pretty much every day but I’m a cleaner and I enjoy gardening so it goes with the territory.

Allmarbleslost · 22/08/2022 21:49

Very very rarely!

crispinglovershighkick · 22/08/2022 21:53

Found one in my bra once 😳 tucked into the crease of the underwire.

SweetPetrichor · 22/08/2022 22:13

Only once unintentionally, but I do pick them up when I find them. I generally find them hard to pick up cause they seem to know we’re big scary humans!

AllAboutMargot · 22/08/2022 22:14

Quite often, once a week, on average. I like spiders and gently relocate them off me and on to a plant or low wall.

Iadorerain · 22/08/2022 22:15

You are a spider God

AlisonDonut · 22/08/2022 22:16

twice just yesterday, on my hair within about 10 mins of each other.

I find them regularly, and walk through webs several times a day.

Thelnebriati · 22/08/2022 22:36

SisterAgatha Its your animal magnetism.
I'll get my coat.

YesitsBess · 22/08/2022 22:39

Weirdly a big house spider just ran all the way from the corner of the room directly to my friends leg and RAN UP IT! I’ve never seen the like before. Maybe they’ve all gone mad.

bloomflower · 22/08/2022 22:40

do you have a nest nearby? Or maybe they are your spirit animal. What lessons do spiders have to give you? Also, money spiders, meant to be good luck!

Pixiedust1234 · 22/08/2022 22:41

Once a year at least, usually in my hair or shoulders. Were you a spider mamma in a previous life?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 22/08/2022 22:42

Once a month ish.
Last time was painting the eaves of a big shed

Not counting when they run over you and pop along on their merry way. More hitching a ride in my hair

Dd was more shocked when a huge moth flapped out of my wide-leg jean cuff
She has worn skinny jeans since.

Haaaa! Love this!

Genuinely wonder if they are my spirit animal then because it does look like this is a large amount of spiders to be on one person who isn’t a Zombie or a Mummy etc. It happens every couple of days I’d say. Defo once a week at the very least.

im not a gardener, or a cleaner but I do always make sure they get away safely and we had this ritual as children that we spun them round our heads three times for money before we let them off… so maybe word has got out in the spider community that I’m a safe space for spiders 😂

YesitsBess · 22/08/2022 23:05

You’re not a safe space, you’re a spider funfair. They’re coming to you to get whizzed round!

Squashedraddish · 22/08/2022 23:10

A couple of times a year maybe. One bit me once- I accidentally squashed it when I bent my arm and hadn’t seen it. I didn’t get any magic powers tho

toastedcat · 22/08/2022 23:12

Oh god, never. But as I was reading that I felt at least three phantom ones on me!

Onacuctustree · 22/08/2022 23:17

Maybe once or twice a year, but the tiny little money spiders.
I have never had anything bigger on me.
I like them though.

AlexandriasWindmill · 22/08/2022 23:20

My DS gets little money spiders on him every couple of weeks. He is not a fan.

TheZeppo · 22/08/2022 23:21

Lol at spider fun fair!

PeriodBro · 22/08/2022 23:27

Hardly ever. Twice a year?

Could you perhaps hire yourself out as a kind of spider decoy for those of us who are not such big fans?

QueenB5 · 22/08/2022 23:30

I love spiders also, which my friends all laugh about. Over the course of the past 2 months, I found one on a bath towel as I was drying myself, I remember thinking that I was glad I noticed it and also not acrophobic! A few weeks ago I had an itchy ankle, I thought I’d nicked it shaving as it was at the back and hadn’t looked at it straight away. Then sitting on my stairs, fastening my shoes one ran up my leg, I looked at my ankle and realised it was a bite, I’m thinking it might have been a spider bite? Get money spiders on me all the time but unfortunately they haven’t made me rich.

Craftybodger · 22/08/2022 23:33

Before today I can’t remember the last time, it must have been many years ago. However today there was one on my dress.
