I have my 85 year old Granny and my Mum coming for lunch tomorrow, I have a busy 1 year old and not much time on my hands but would like to do something nice for everyone with limited time/time to get to the shops! Any suggestions please?

Quiche?
Salmon, new potatoes and salad?
Fish cakes and salad?

bread and cheese and grapes

Bung a roast chicken in the oven.
salad
couscous
part baked rolls

Chicken breast, slice in the middle but not all the way, put some nice cheese in the middle and seal it back up. Wrap in cured ham (Italian or Spanish) or bacon. Cook in oven for 25 on 180 until juices are clear and serve with green beans and new potatoes (both easy boilers on stove)

icecream or sorbet for dessert

A ploughmans: nice bread, decent ham, cheddar, some pickle and a bit of salad. I sometimes add pork pie or scotch egg too.

Oooh ploughman's is a good shout, made a roast ham for tea last night and loads left 👌🏻

Could you do a mini afternoon tea? Few varieties of sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls/mini quiches and some scones.

I love a ploughman’s. Maybe some chips on the side too and strawberries and cream for pudding.
