Grumpy neighbour…

…I think I might be one…

New neighbours moved in last weekend. We have a 2 week old baby. Kids have been round three times this morning and once last night to ask me to throw balls over the fence. After the second time I said I would leave the gate open and they could go through and find them (explained I have a small baby and couldn’t find the second one this morning).

They are STILL ringing the bell….

Am I a mean neighbour?! My judgement may well be clouded by a) lack of sleep b) their dog coming in to our garden all bloody weekend and they seemingly don’t give a shit.

Just say you are busy with baby, and can’t worry about balls

That is the right thing to do….I am overthinking this!!

Tell them to stop ringing as it is waking the baby.

Tell them you will go into the garden 1 or twice a day a return any that you see. But because of the baby you will not be answering the door.

As above and put a note on the door.

I'd pop and see mum, whilst carrying the baby!
Kids are into immediate gratification so their quickest and easiest fix is for you to get it.

Say hi and welcome etc, would she have a word with the kids, you'll pop out a few times a day and happily throw them back but the doorbell is waking the baby. And smile!

Don't let them in to get it themselves. You'll quickly regret that.

Oh God you need to get DH over and say you've a newborn and OR write it on a new home card inviting them round once you've adjusted to life with a new baby...I.e.a year plus from now!!!
