What have I done to my knee? Help!

From absolutely nowhere I can’t bend my knee. No injury, no trauma, was just stood ironing then it felt a bit stiff and tried to bend it to shake it out a bit. Can’t! So much pain.

Absolutely fine weight bearing, walking, sitting when it’s straight. Not sore to touch. But bending to come up stairs, take off my leggings, put on pjs etc, ouch!!

what on earth have I done? Front looks a little swollen but I’m chunky anyway!!

I suffer from housemaid's knee despite the fact I do nothing to earn such an accolade.

I’ve never heard of that! Does it just come from nowhere?

For me, yes - it takes ages to go too. So painful too - ibuprofen helps, but not enough: www.nhs.uk/conditions/bursitis/

wrap frosen peas in a tea towel, and ice several times a day (Google it) and ibruproven as PP says. If it doesn’t go down in a couple days see a physio

Housewives knee / bursitis,

I've had it twice the first night I was like you, by the morning it was bright red twice the size as normal and very spongy and I couldn't weight bear at all. I thought something awful had happened or an insect bite that had gotten infected that I couldn't see. I went to A and E my dad had to help me into the car and drive me, had to use their wheelchair at the entrance I was in so much pain I was crying, i got no sympathy from the nurse, told there were no wounds (bite marks) that I had to straighten my leg and walk on it, took me ages and the most painful thing I've ever done. Got given a load of antibiotics and antiinflammatories and sent on my way.

The second time I recognised the signs early and went straight to the Dr and got AB. I felt it go the second time when I knelt down putting laundry in the washing machine.

You don't always need antibiotics by the way, I was just unlucky that it got infected but keep an eye on it and draw a circle around it using a sharpie if it's hot to the touch and red

I don’t see any red areas, or areas hot to touch. Woke up and could bend it slightly in bed so thought it was getting better, got up and now I’ve been up for a wee while it’s gone again. So annoying!!
