We are currently in Spain on holiday and have spent lots of time on various beaches along the Costa del Sol. Have been here a week now and just want to reassure anyone thrown into an anxiety spiral about their inadequate beach body please DO NOT PANIC. There are people of every shape and size from a hugely diverse range of countries and you WILL not still out as a pasty, flabby Brit.
Yes there are lots of beautiful Spanish women
Yes a lot of the British are v pale at the start of the week (ie today we had a new bunch on their first day of hols!) but similar from other areas of the world.
The only thing I have really noticed is that women with fuller figures from Spain tend to not give a crap and wear a string bikini/sunbathe topless/wear a thong bikini whereas the brits (the ones I have confirmed from hearing them talk in a British accent!) often attempt to cover up with sarongs/tankinis.
So if you’re going away- don’t panic and don’t try to cover up! Be proud of whatever body you have. And have a great holiday ☀️
