Accident today, still shaky.

I had a few too many drinks with DP last night and fell down the stairs. Stupidly, and probably because I was drunk, I decided to just go to bed and sleep.
Woke up this morning with a huge black eye, and I mean dark purple and huge. Also assorted bumps and bruises, but most concerning, a lump on the back of my head.
DP took me to ED where I had a scan and all looked fine.
I'm just so shaken up by it, mainly because I don't remember the fall, just DP waking me up and helping me up and into bed. I mean, I'm so lucky it wasn't much much worse. I could have broken my neck. I hadn't eaten all day, which is possibly why I was so drunk. What an absolute idiot.
Not sure why I'm posting, I just feel shaken up.

I’ve fallen down the stairs sober so unless you make a habit of injuring yourself when drunk, I would just chalk this up to an accident and thank myself lucky I didn’t do any major damage.

Thank goodness you're ok OP. I'd maybe have a word with your DP as helping you into bed after such a fall wasn't a great idea. I know the buck stops with you but assuming they weren't as drunk as you were, getting you seen last night might have been a better option.
