Has anyone overcome a stammer/stutter

Hi,
My 17 yr old son has developed one. The NHS speech therapist gave hin one appointment and basically said to breathe and relax.
Was wondering if anyone else had any tips or advice.

Hi
There are various methods you can use to help control your speech, rather than completely remove the stutter. Look into the ‘bounce’ for instance. My son had about six NHS speech & language appointments at a much younger age. I cannot remember the other strategies - possibly the ‘slide’ and speaking on the out breath.

Still has the stutter, mind you. Also Google the Willy Russell and Michael Palin Centres and contact them.

My son is under the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering who assessed him and then have advised the NHS speech therapist how to help.
