Need an a surprise idea!

I'm having a party for my teen daughter. I've got activities planned etc but I thought it would be nice to plan a little surprise. I have wracked my brains over what it could be, she likes singing, writing, painting. I even thought about inviting someone over from her past to surprise her but there's nobody! Other than a famous star 😂I can't think of anyone!!!

Any ideas anyone? I even considered inviting her old teacher who she very much liked and admired, is a very talented person musically and very down to earth. But that would be weird wouldn't it?

Thanks. 😊

Could you find a 'lookalike' for someone she admires? Google should bring up local results.

Yes, maybe! Thank you X

Yes, it would be weird and uncomfortable for your daughter to have to entertain her old teacher rather than be with her friends.

Has she got a favourite singer you can find a local lookalike? Or get someone to serenade her? Signed copy from favourite author?

Is it her birthday? Who's invited? Why can't the party just be the surprise?

Notaboutthebass · 21/08/2022 18:57

@MarshaMelrose I get that, thank you. For this occasion she's just having family, but yeah I don't think it's a great idea, it could be awkward.
@Riverlee I like the idea of her being serenaded!
@girlmom21 it's her birthday yes, just family. She's having a seperate thing with her friends. She knows about the party!

I get the feeling I'm over planning stuff for her. We have karaoke and activities, and lots of nice food etc. I've bought her some lovely gifts and will dress the house nicely.

She said that she wanted to have her best friends over on a different day, but I get the feeling she won't end up arranging it. I don't know whether to secretly arrange her bestest friend to turn up?

"I get the feeling I'm over planning stuff for her"

Then trust your instincts and leave it at what you already have

What about a celebrity cardboard cut out that she could pretend to sing with and pose for selfies?
