Did you do anything to prep before?

  1. Just a quick shower.
Phrenologistsfinger · 19/08/2022 17:00

37 - too old apparently, lots of eggs still but they are rubbish quality.

incognitopurple · 19/08/2022 17:00

@erikbloodaxe haha you have brought a smile to my face for the first time today

35, just told DH he needed to get into bed. We were rather hungover from Christmas Day.

We had been trying for a few months and had got it on the first try- but it wasn’t to be. I feel very fortunate to have become pregnant again fairly fast. I had been tracking ovulation and EWCM, so it’s not really fair to say i’d not been doing anything- but no lifestyle changes.

TheresSomethingYouNeedToKnow · 19/08/2022 17:06

I used pregnancare before conception.
Clear blue digital ovulation kit.
Ate Brazil nuts from 9dpo - 14. All of the advice from a pregnancy forum I was on haha! It worked, first month! Although, ended in a stillbirth sadly.

Did it again and have a healthy school child.

hellosunshineagainx · 19/08/2022 17:07

Both were accidents so no prep, I was 28 and 32. Just started taking pregnacare when I found out

Tigerstigers · 19/08/2022 17:10

27 with first, second wasn't planned 😬

custardbear · 19/08/2022 17:15

33 and 38
Conceived at 35 and 39
Both took approx 2 years but with MMC and issues along the way.

For TTC support I used an ovulation microscope (I'm a scientist so not an issue to find the focus lol) - that was brilliant!
POAS for a bit - was ok
Losing weight - worked a treat, but only as I was a bit overweight, if you're underweight get a little more timber in you and eat fish!
Went home lunch times for sex when really trying hard lol 😆
Stopped drinking (some of the time lol - we actually conceived number 1 child at Christmas when we were letting our hair down and number 2 child on holiday ... so perhaps alcohol actually helped 😆)

I took:
Pregnacare
Folic acid high dose
Aspirin (consultants advice)
HCG injections (ouchy) weekly in first trimester (via hospital)

Have 2 children now 🥰
Good luck!

custardbear · 19/08/2022 17:19

... ooo I forgot to say I also took Angus Castus and that worked for baby 1.
I was also having trouble ttc at 1 point (13 months not a sniff!) so tried high concentration evening primrose oil (stop post ovulation) - that works but I had a miscarriage (not unusual for me but perhaps kickstarted something you never know)!
My tip tips are
Focus on something else (lol so easy to say yet so hard to do)
Lose or gain weight if you're over or under, even just a little bit helps as some pregnancy related hormones are fat residing, so helps balance if imbalance
Angus castus was great I think - I used a drop form from A Vogel

  1. I took folic acid before I got pregnant. Had sex at least every second day while TTC. Fun times. Got pregnant first month of trying with each child (I was 37, 38 and 41 when I had them).
mondaytosunday · 19/08/2022 17:21
  1. Didn't do anything, maybe took some folic acid? Fortunately conceived in four months, and again at 42.
Namenic · 19/08/2022 17:26

27 . Took folic acid.

Summerunlover · 19/08/2022 17:27

25 didn’t get pregnant till 33 after IVF

Phrenologistsfinger · 19/08/2022 17:42

Thanks @incognitopurple but I’m 40 now-and had 10 losses and 3 poor IVF rounds so a baby is unlikely. I’m a cautionary tale and I’m sharing so other women don’t delay and miss out like me! Crack on with it now!

Mothersruin123 · 19/08/2022 17:47

StampOnTheGround · 19/08/2022 17:51

27 and didn't do much to prepare, tracked my periods so I had some sort of idea when I would ovulate (but wasn't really sure) and put no pressure on it - thought what will be will be!

leopardspice · 19/08/2022 17:54
