Better pay in admin or hr?

For anyone who has experience! I'm currently working as an admin officer in a school. There's a possibility that I could move into hr but before thinking about it seriously I need to know if I'd be earning more/less or staying roughly the same.

Also, for those working in hr, do you enjoy your job?

Many thanks

I would say there's more progression opportunity in HR, if that's what you're looking for. I used to work in admin and worked my way up to being an Executive Assistant for a Marketing Director but that was about as high as I could go in terms of career progression opportunities at the time.

I moved into HR and there's lots more room for career progression. Lots of people working in HR started in admin, or recruitment....it is quite a common career path. I do enjoy it, every day is different.

In terms of salary it depends. I earned a lot more as an Exec Assistant than I did when I started as an HR Administrator but it was a different level of role. In general though there is more opportunity to increase your salary working in HR I'd have thought.
