Agadir or Marrakech

Travelling in November to Morocco for winter sun. Understand that Agadir is by the beach and Marrakech is inland, more of a city break but has riads with swimming pools. Can't decide whether to do A with a day trip to M, or M with a day trip to visit the beach at A. Please can anyone share their opinion and experiences? We are a couple with no children. Sightseeing and relaxing are both important to us. Any accommodation and sightseeing recommendations also welcome. Thanks in advance.

If sightseeing is important to you, Marrakesh wins over Agadir, hands down. If I remember correctly, Agadir is much smaller than Marrakesh, with a fort and a harbour, plus a small souk. Marrakesh has a lot more going on and is far livelier. The last time I went to Agadir we ended up taking a local bus up to Marrakesh and staying there for a couple of nights too, so you can definitely move around a bit and see more if that's what you're after.

Marrakesh 100%

There are a couple of RIU hotels which are just beautiful in Marrakesh which will see to all your sunbathing needs and you'll still be in walking distance of the action. They do tours too if you'd rather.

Marrakesh has a lot more to see and do but is also quite full on. Really enjoyed the blue garden, going to a hamman , the souk and the food. We didn't go to Agadir but went to Essaouria on the coast and loved the contrast as it was so laid back and relaxing.

Marrakech - you can travel to the Atlas Mountains easily from there. You’ll get a real feel for the history and culture of the country.
