Anyone moved from SKY (tv & broadband) to something else?

Thinking of getting rid because the monthly cost is too much now, but I have the broadband from them as well and so I need to find a new provider. And a bit worried I will miss it, even though I don't watch loads of tv. Any tips?

I dumped it all.
I got a broad and only deal with BT, fastest in my area.
Got a fire Stick, downloaded Disney, Netflix, Amazon and the catchup services from itv, 5, channel 4 etc.
Dumped the TV license.

I do t miss the TV as I watch the shows I want when I want on catch-up. If I can't afford Netflix, Disney and Prime one month, I'll drop them all and just use the free catch up services.

I pay around 25 for BT internet.
Then something like £8 for each subscription a month, but I often just have one subscription running.

I did exactly this, works great for me. I pop into Now TV for a few months then cancel when watched everything.

If you don't watch loads of TV what will you miss?

We are BT BB & TV and find it ideal.

Never had Sky, Netflix, Amazon TV etc so never paid for streaming services.

Binned ours years ago. Never missed it! Internet now through Now TV (still run by Sky I think but cheaper) and have Netflix.

We’ve binned ours and got freesat. Not missed anything so far. But it is summer and we watch very little in the summer

I got a Roku box. Looking back I'm so angry I wasted all that money with Sky. Not that angry that I'd give up their broadband though Grin

I got rid of sky after 20 years. Was sick of the price hikes and having to phone up to renegotiate every year.

I have BT VIP for DH, he likes the sports and movies.

I also have Netflix, Disney and Amazon-still cheaper all together than sky and the internet is significantly better.

I'm about to ditch SKY TV as I never watch it and since getting a Roku box, never watch or record live TV/BBC either. Added bonus of being able to cancel my TV licence too,

Sky contract is up for renewal this month so I'm going to go to broadband only. Let us know what you find! Always on the lookout for a good deal.

Thanks for all the posts on here and the suggestions. Going to look into this Roku box as hadn't heard of it, and see what I can find on broadband deals

Now that streaming is a thing, I don't understand the point of Sky. You get just about the same thing for a fraction of the cost from Now TV.

Or you can get Netflix, Disney, Prime and probably others, or free services like Youtube, All 4 etc. Plus these are all month to month, so you can just switch around if you get bored on one particular service.

For your broadband, have a look at:

www.moneysavingexpert.com/broadband-and-tv/

We moved from Virgin to BT for broadband a few months ago - because Virgin was shit mainly, but they'd also put the cost up massively.

We got better broadband for a cheaper price per month, plus £110 cashback or an Amazon voucher or similar, I don't remember.
