Home sauna or hot tub?

I really fancy getting one of these. I’ve got suspected rheumatoid arthritis which has developed really quickly and I’ve found heat to really help with the pain and flexibility. Also I just quite fancy one.

Having looked into hot tubs they look lovely but it also looks like a lot of upkeep. Given how quickly my arthritis has developed I’m concerned it might not be long until I’m unable to do much of it myself. I was a fully functioning, late 30s woman 6 months ago and now I’m unable to hold a pen, turn anything other than the easiest locks or open a can of pop as my fingers are so swollen and painful they can’t bend enough. I could pay someone to come round and manage it but it seems a bit excessive.

Equally I can’t find out too much info on the costs or work associated with running a sauna. I wouldn’t be able to get a wood fired one so it would have to be electric but I can’t imagine they’d be much in terms of maintenance costs.

Has anyone got either/ both and got any advice of pricing, running costs, maintenance involved etc?

many thanks

Do you not have the opportunity to visit a sauna somewhere locally to you? Certainty over how much, which you would not have with a home sauna. Assuming you are in the UK, the disadvantage that you would have to sauna with a swimming costume though.
