It’s so unfair

Today we’ve had an day of two extremes, I’m sitting feeling happy on one hand but so sad on the other.
My nephew came around to tell us he’d done really well in his a levels and is on his way to his first choice uni, just starting out on his life.
My daughter came home from work upset, one of the young men who her workmate supports has been sectioned as he had a major breakdown.
Police were called, he was pepper sprayed and taken away, they are nearly the same age.
Hes had a really bad start in life, lost his parents really young.
It’s just so sad, these poor young people are not receiving the right support, the whole system needs a massive shake up.

I feel so badly for that young man. I hope life throws something or better someone good into his path.

Great for your nephew, well done. I'm sure he worked hard and has good support.

Life is cruel for many, no two ways around it

Life can be very unkind at times. I hope the young man gets the help he needs to get his life back on track. Congratulations to your nephew

Thank you, we’re very proud but just feel so sad for the young man.
Bad mental health is such a terrible thing isn’t it.
He’s so young and has had such a hard start. I know there’s nothing I can do but I just feel like there should be so much more support for these young people.

I think such a lot of mental health problems have abuse, neglect etc at the root. More does need to be done. It's hard for so many young people to get on in life even the ones with parental support, financial support etc let alone those who have none of this.
