Is my passport damaged?

Today I received my first ever passport
I'm worried it's damaged
On each page where the cut out numbers are there is a yellow mark around each number.
Is this normal ? Damaged?
I've waited 4 months for this

Anyone ? I'm panicking a little

It's every page around find numbers
My partners is also the same but main page not as bad
So both of ours has this staining around the perforated numbers

Is it part of the security markings? Mine isn’t to hand to check.

I do think it’s part of the markings. Even if that is damage (which I doubt) it’s not enough for a border officer to reject it.

I did find this "the perforations will show slight Charing"
I wonder if that's what it is

Why don't you query it with the passport office?

That is absolutely fine. It happens to most passports. You honestly have nothing to worry about. ( I can't say my.job but can tell you your passport is "normal" and you don't need to worry)

Yes sounds like it.

It doesn’t make it unreadable, which is the main thing. All your info is on the biometric chip anyway. BIL traveled for three years on a passport that had been through the wash. Relax.

Mines identical - I’ve used it 6 times in the year I’ve had it and no probs.

it’s perfectly normal - charring to do with the perforation.

It’s not damage.
The holes are laser cut, so it scorches the surrounding paper a bit.

My face page isn't charred on the front but is on the back and every single one of the others is charred

So deffo not worth asking for a replacement regarding the chared bit on my photo ?

I'm assuming they wouldn't send it out if it was damaged

Charing=charring. Slight burnt/singed where the little metal prongs have gone through the paper. It’s fine!
