I went to visit my parents tonight and their neighbour (across the road) was watering her garden with a hosepipe

Without thinking I lent over to say out of the window of my car hosepipe ban'

Last week before ours came into effect my ndn was telling another neighbour that she was washing her car (and fence) before the ban started

AIBU to think this is selfish and stupid behaviour?

If we all use less surely people can see how this will help!

I understand that water companies have failed us (leaks, poor forward planning)

Does it actually change your parents' neighbour's behaviour?

If not, best to focus on what you can personally do.

As the ban was not in place she wasn't doing anything wrong. In that aspect you should wind your neck in.
