Peanut Butter - Smooth or Crunchy ?

KittyCatsby · 18/08/2022 17:12

I like to have a couple of crackers with peanut butter on as a sometimes afternoon snack.
Just gone to the cupboard to find I've bought the smooth instead of crunchy - found it very cloying and not very nice .
Which do you prefer ?

I love both

MrsMontyD · 18/08/2022 17:17

Crunchy.

Justleaveitblankthen · 18/08/2022 17:17

Crunchy. Always and forever. I only buy the Aldi palm oil free one. It's delicious 😋 ( definitely an acquired taste if you are used to saltier/lighter ones though)

Crunchy.. always with a bit of salt in it…

addler · 18/08/2022 17:26

Crunchy, always.

Bloody heathens, preferring smooth.

Allmarbleslost · 18/08/2022 17:26

Crunchy!

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 18/08/2022 17:26

I love both but there is something slightly better about crunchy

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 18/08/2022 17:27

My kids will only eat crunchy. Maybe why I get smooth too, so there’s always some left!!

Ostryga · 18/08/2022 17:28

Crunchy. And none of that 100% peanuts healthy stuff, I was Jif or Skippy extra crunchy.

Topseyt123 · 18/08/2022 17:28

Crunchy. Definitely.

Ostryga · 18/08/2022 17:28

*want.

icelollycraving · 18/08/2022 17:29

Crunchy skippy. I don’t like the healthy ones.

Huntswomanonthemove · 18/08/2022 17:29

Crunchy, I sooo want some now. 😛

cliffdiver · 18/08/2022 17:29

Crunchy

Preferably Whole Earth, with Marmite.

Timeforabiscuit · 18/08/2022 17:30

I used to be crunchy, but peanut butter and banana milkshakes demand smooth and I've converted.

Best one is the marks and spencer one (plenty of salt!)

princessbear80 · 18/08/2022 17:30

Crunchy, always.

kierenthecommunity · 18/08/2022 17:30

Am I the only person who likes smooth? I don’t like the bits of peanut getting in my teeth.

WoozieFloozie · 18/08/2022 17:32

Mmm crunchy.

Stripsorspots · 18/08/2022 17:34

Crunchy for toast and spoons, smooth for cooking

toffeechai · 18/08/2022 17:36

Crunchy. Smooth is passable but why would you choose it when you can have crunchy?

AmandaMirandaPanda · 18/08/2022 17:37

I prefer smooth overall, but I'm usually spreading it on bumpy, grainy wholegrain toast or scooping it with raw veggies. I also find the smooth stuff available in the UK/Europe (limited choices in most supermarkets, and worse in a smaller shop) is kind of unctuous and overly sweet, while the smooth in North America is dryer and more variable along a sweet-savoury spectrum.

If you really don't like the specific kind that you bought and no one in your household does, use it to make something like peanut butter cookies or satay sauce or Pad Thai or peanut noodles or savoury peanut soup and then be sure to buy your favourite crunchy kind next time.

AllPlayedOut · 18/08/2022 17:37

Definitely smooth. Crunchy tears the bread and the little bits are annoying.

MintChocTea · 18/08/2022 17:39

Always crunchy! Better for making peanut dipping sauce too 😋

Sartre · 18/08/2022 17:42

Both tbh but usually crunchy.

Pinkandgreentrousers · 18/08/2022 17:48

Crunchy, but has to be Marks and Spencer as it's just peanuts and no added nasties
