Anyone else ready for the summer holidays to be over?

I'm probably being very unreasonable but I've had enough now.

Kids were lovely and good company for the first 4 weeks, they are now feral, whiney little thugs.

DH insists on WFH, I really wish he would fuck off to the office for the holidays, he's distracting the kids and getting under my feet.

I'm out of energy, money and enthusiasm. The dc have hated holiday club this year despite loving it last year. Some of their regular activities are on pause for the summer and they are missing them.

I'm really ready for a return to routine and order. Anyone else fancy a moan?

Whilst some mn's might think you are being unreasonable, I don't think you are op. I also think it depends on an individuals situation - for example level of support with dc/age of dc/health factors and so on, there are so many variables to this.

Yes I agree with you op and can absolutely understand what you have written and I do want to have a moan. I think having lockdown hasn't helped either as many of the home-based activities have already been done over and over again.

I'm afraid this description fits my dc also currently.

Dc's didn't bicker much at first but they do now and I think they would benefit from a bit of space from each other. Also, youngest dc in particular would benefit from routine (starts school in September) and is less able to entertain themselves.

Many things have worked against us these holidays including covid, car problems and the blazing hot weather which hasn't helped either.

School uniform is now ironed, hanging up and ready to go (this isn't a stealth boast...it is more where my mind is I think i.e. thinking of the beginning of Autumn term).

How long until your dc starts school again op...approx 2 weeks?

Hello @MeasureforMeasure445454 yes two weeks left....same with you?

I wish the summer holidays would be chopped down to a more manageable 4 or 5 weeks, and the extra weeks tacked on somewhere else.

I'm sorry you're feeling the same, we might look back at this with rose tinted glasses one day?!
