The town is growing and for 500k you will get a nice house, do you have school aged children or any mobility issues as their will like all towns be places to avoid.

Endlesslypatient82 · 18/08/2022 17:34

school sorted
no mobility issues
Very flexible as to location but would love to be guided as very ignorant!

Here is an insight into Eastbourne www.travelloglewes.co.uk/wp/walks-and-walking/scandalous-eastbourne/

It is an interesting place to say the least.

We have a group of friends who have up sticks and moved there after living on London for decades, they love it.

sorryiasked · 22/08/2022 18:31

I was going to say don't, but as you've got school sorted I guess that's not an option.
So, I would look at the logistics of travel to school(s)/work and anywhere else you know you'll need to get to on a regular basis. The infrastructure just isn't there to cope with the amount of houses built in recent decades. If you're able to say which areas you need to access we can try and advise.

I like the Mead area of the town (West Eastbourne). Lots of lovely period properties around there. No idea how much they command though.

Roselilly36 · 22/08/2022 18:35

I quiet like Eastbourne, used to live fairly close by. Some areas are better than others, like most areas. Nice beach but pebbles not sand, pier etc decent shopping, what areas are you considering? I like old town, although parking isn’t great but close to Waitrose etc.

Roselilly36 · 22/08/2022 18:36

Meads is lovely but £££

Roselilly36 · 22/08/2022 18:37

Quite not quiet, auto correct hates me at times!

My exes parents used to have a place in the Meads, it’s really nice but definitely not cheap and as it was just off the main beach road, parking in the street was impossible during the air show. I think the old town is quite nice as well.
