Will this support be ok after c section?

I am single and need a c section.

I have a night nanny every two nights for 5 weeks. Twice a week two hour help for food delivery and putting away and a cleaner fortnightly. Mum can’t help at all except to drop evening meals round.

im worried!

You'll be fine! I found my elective very easy to recover from and both my newborns have slept loads and loads for the early weeks so lots of time to recover. Good luck Flowers

So your biggest help needed will be in the first week- 10 days. Any heavy lifting is out ( lifting pushchair, car seat, obviously no driving. You’ll be able to lift the baby but will struggle getting out of bed- maybe try and sleep in a chair or something? Literally getting from lying to upright can be a 15 minute operation.

can you afford a full time nanny for that first 7-10 days whilst you heal? Just basically bringing the baby to you whenever you need it. Even the first 3 days would be hugely beneficial. The main issue is you just can’t move fast, the baby will need you and you are going to end up damaging yourself reaching/stretching and recovery will take longer!

Do you have any other children? If not, it sounds like more than enough help.

After the first week its exponentially better and by 2 weeks you’ll be bouncing around again!

I’m a little confused….why do you need a night nanny? I had a c section and was breastfeeding so I did all the feeds, I slept when the baby slept during the day.
i was driving after 4 weeks.
although I do have a partner who kept ontop of the housework if he wasn’t around It would just have had to wait.
do you have any friends? My friends would have certainly ran the hoover round or wiped the bathroom over for me
I was able to cook, and go about my usual day albeit a lot slower than I normally am.
