Help -urgent is there one app for music, podcasts and audiobooks?

Relative currently sectioned in hospital and likely to be there for weeks/months yet. As part of recovery am going to send them an old iPhone (which they know how to use) loaded with audiobooks/music/podcasts.

i really need this to be on one app, I have audible and Spotify I can use, but is there anywhere that collates it in one place?

they might manage one set of instructions, not 3. Also don’t get internet and phone doesn’t have data.

Am going away tonight so need to sort and post this today.

Thank you!

Spotify definitely does podcasts as well as music. Not sure about audiobooks though.

BBC sounds?

Yes you can download music playlists on bbc sounds. Radio 4 does book at bedtime and there are podcasts too.

BBC sounds has music, podcasts and audio books.

There are audiobooks on spotify but the chapters don't play in the right order unless you have premium.

PersonaNonGarter · 18/08/2022 07:18

I would use audible. It doesn’t have music but you can be sure you don’t need internet as the books can be downloaded

Can you sign up to your local library and download audio books and books from there and swap them out every time you visit?

chilliesandspices · 18/08/2022 07:29

I don't think there's something that does everything. I'd stick with Spotify if I had to choose between the two. With a podcast it doesn't matter too much if they drift in and out of sleep. You could create playlists for each topic of interest so they just need to go to the library and choose what they're in the mood for I.e gardening, cooking, travel, true crime etc.

Thanks, sadly the phone is too old for bbc sounds but audible and Spotify have downloaded.

I’m not sure they’ll even try with them tbh, but I have to try.

Borrow Box for audio books? It's the library service and free.
I second Spotify fot music & podcasts.

I don't think there is an decent app that does all 3.
