Facebook hacked

Can anyone shed light on this please?

I have been logged out of my fb account, when I try to recover my password, the email on that account is not mine, it has been changed, whoever did it has sent friend requests no is liking my friends photos, I just don't know what to do, I have contacted Facebook and they're not interested!

I have 2 fb accounts, I've just tried those steps and it didn't workthanks for your help

I know plenty of people who have had this and sadly have never been able to recover their account. Make sure for any future social media accounts you have two-factor authentication turned on. My FB got hacked and this saved mine.

Just looked at the two factor, the app I have to pay for and an additional phone I don't have, can you tell me what you used @CornishGem1975 please?

You don't need anything else @lothermand it's built in as part of it but you do have to turn it on in your privacy/security settings. Recommend doing it for anything you use like Instagram etc too

I've just activated the two part factor thanks to this thread,I didn't know about it 👍

I cant get back into my OWN account BECAUSE of two factor authentication, I no longer have that phone

You shouldn't need the phone @JenniferBooth it's attached to your number or email?

Ive never used a phone for fb The phone no they had was an old phone of DHs Ive only ever used a laptop to access fb since 2009 As i cant get back in via this way they sent a code to my e mail address. Which i used and then it wanted ID and suggested i upload my marriage certificate. Ridiculous
