What do you think of this situation

I was supposed to do some business with an individual last week. When it came to making an appointment, he just came down with covid and he has to isolate for 10 days. When he said 10 days I felt he was lieing because isolation is now down to 7 days.

I presumed he was finished with his isolation this week so I rang him again and he said he is away on holidays until next week. I really think he should have said that on the phone last week that he was due to go on holidays next week.

He claimed he had to isolate but he magically felt better to go away on holidays within his isolation period.

Does this sound like excuses. I know there is a lot of covid everywhere now and it is summer time too. I think he could have said it last week that he was due to go on holidays after his covid.

Then, of all the times to get covid, it just happened to be then when it looked like everybody had covid a few weeks ago.
