Got chicken Kiev's out for dinner on Sunday morning, still hadn't defrosted by the evening so ate something else.

Ended up going out for dinner last night, wondering if they will still be ok to have tonight?

I'm always just a bit wary with chicken .....

I wouldn’t, but also slightly wary with chicken!

CrimsonCountess · 16/08/2022 13:32

I definitely would as long as it smells fine

midgetastic · 16/08/2022 13:32

Out - no
or kept in fridge - ok

HannahSternDefoe · 16/08/2022 13:33

No chance...You could be locked in the bathroom for hours days💩

OnOldOlympus · 16/08/2022 13:35

I wouldn’t, frozen food that’s been defrosted should be eaten within 24 hours. It’s been over 48 so you’re well out of the safe window.

CravenRaven · 16/08/2022 13:38

Assuming it's yet to be cooked, yes. I'd just make sure it was scorching hot before doing so.

Hoppinggreen · 16/08/2022 13:38

Out out no but in the fridge probably but cooked very well

DueyCheatemAndHow · 16/08/2022 13:40

Yeah I would. Haven't had one for years!

CointreauVersial · 16/08/2022 13:41

100 percent yes, would eat.
Assuming it hasn't been left out of the fridge. After 30 minutes at 200 degrees there isn't going to be much that can harm you.

PurpleDaisies · 16/08/2022 13:41

As long as they’ve been in the fridge, yes

Dirtylittleroses · 16/08/2022 13:42

No. Defrosted food needs to be eaten within 48 hours.

Lookingformymarbles · 16/08/2022 13:42

Yes definitely-so long as they've been stored in the fridge and cooked for the full time

PowerPack · 16/08/2022 13:47

If it's been in the fridge, yes

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 16/08/2022 13:51

Yes, but for future reference you can buy cook from frozen chicken Kievs to save this issue

SpotlessMind88 · 16/08/2022 13:54

no i wouldn't

PeacefulInTheDeep · 16/08/2022 13:55

I would. As long as it's been stored in the fridge and cooked properly.

hedgehoglurker · 16/08/2022 13:58

If you bought them fresh and froze them just before their use by date, I think you are pushing your luck.

Dammitthisisshit · 16/08/2022 14:02

Yes - they were still frozen on Sunday so it’s only 1 1/2 days.
the only time I don’t is if it’s something fresh that I froze on its use by date - if that’s the case I use immediately.

whenwillthemadnessend · 16/08/2022 14:03

As long as it's been in a fridge and smells ok on opening absolutely would
Eat it.

However I ate choc pudding that was a month out of date last night. Grin

onelittlefrog · 16/08/2022 14:16

Was it frozen within a day or two of buying it (i.e. not too close to the use by date?)

If so, and if it's been kept in the fridge, you will be fine.

andpeggy1 · 16/08/2022 14:38

Who defrosts chicken kievs? I
Thought you cooked them
Straight from frozen?? Or have I just ever eaten cheap Iceland style ones?

Soproudoflionesses · 16/08/2022 14:46

I would but then l have a cast iron stomach and hate wasting food.

emmathedilemma · 16/08/2022 15:17

So long as they'd been defrosted in the fridge i'd definitely eat them.

lljkk · 16/08/2022 17:07

Smell /taste test for me.

alrightfella · 17/08/2022 16:39

Well we ate them and lived to tell the tale! They had been in the fridge though and I cooked them well.
