Having a shockingly bad week

So this last week has been appallingly bad. One thing after another has either gone horribly wrong or just really, really sucked. And to top it all off, it was my birthday on Thursday and no one said anything.

I don't want to go into details here or wallow in self pity, I just want to ask advice on how to get through it. I don't have anyone to talk to. I just want to go to bed and not wake up for a month but that's not really an option. How do you keep going when literally everything is going to shit?

Happy belated birthday petal xx

Treat yourself this weekend. Take yourself out, have a nice lunch, go and see a film or to the theatre if that's your thing. Or just do some pampering at home if you're on a tighter budget.

Happy belated birthday

It's hard isn't it? I know that feeling well. Sometimes it is just a case of getting through each day, minute by minute. Can you escape into a book or a TV series for a bit? Give yourself permission to not be OK because we can't always be OK.

Happy belated birthday Rebulah 🎂

Very high levels of self care, as much as you have the time and money for. Lots of rest, favourite movies - comedies would be good. Your favourite food and drink.

Happy Belated Birthday.

I had to search and search my brain tonight to find one thing I was grateful for as the last few days have been so crap. I don't usually do the "gratefulness" malarkey but I was desperate to feel better.

I realised I was grateful that the second hand (washed!) top I was wearing didn't stink of someone else's BO after a hot sweaty day (I've been caught out before by my charity shop finds!) 😀 It was the best I could do but it made me smile.

Sorry you are having a shit time. Hope you can find the one tiny thing to make you smile too.

Thanks all, I really appreciate the replies. I'll try to make actual plans for the weekend for once, something to look forward to might help. Though the way things are going I wouldn't be suprised if an asteroid hits the planet by Friday. That would be just my luck.

Sorry to hear this, OP. It's normal to feel crap when you're having a bad time of things. I'm not sure I can give advice on how to feel better - only you know what works for you.

Monkerina · 15/08/2022 22:03

Oh gosh OP I've been there too. Definitely escape into a book or TV show binge, sort out something fun you want to do at the weekend and, trite though it sounds- when you're going through hell, keep going. Don't let the buggers get you down!

Happy belated birthday 🥳 I truly hope your week is better from here on in.
