I don't have the best relationship with school and the way they've treated DS so I don't have the most faith in anything being done by them tbh. Ds has sen and is going into year 5.
there is a group of children and one boy in particular who think it's funny to make fun of DS and basically treat him like he has the plague (telling other children not to play with DS, running away from him, saying "ds is coming! Ds is coming, run away!" Whenever he goes near them even though he is usually just minding his own business playing by himself or other children, whispering and laughing about him)
I've seen this all first hand because it usually happens at a local park after school. The main instigator is a year above DS so they were always separate at school, however in September they will both be on the same playground and I'm really worried that it will slow things to escalate massively.
ds is autistic and he doesn't seem to fully notice (though I suspect he does notice and there's an element of self preservation in pretending not to notice) but if he sees these children he's always still polite and smiles/waves and says hello (they just blank him completely which isn't very nice but whatever)
the parents of the children are aware and don't care so that's a non starter
my main concern is that DS has only one friend at school, his best friend but he is also friends with the bully, and I'm so worried that he will stop DS best friend from playing with him (or rather, include ds best friend and purposely exclude ds from games so ds is left alone)
DS wont tell me if any of this happens so I wont even know
