What price are you currently paying for energy, per unit?

Obviously I'm well aware of the current energy crisis, but it only hit me today how bad things actually are when my neighbour mentioned that she's currently paying £120pm more than I am, despite the fact that we live in identical houses with the same amount of family members, and I thought that I'd locked in at near enough the current cap price.

Curious to know what everyone else is currently paying, and whether you locked in when the crisis first came to light or not? I pay 27.63p per kWh for electric with a 24p per day standing charge, and 7.997p per kWh for gas with a 26.12p daily standing charge, which is locked in until 30/11/23.
I pay between £60 - £80 most months.

31.6p pet unit, 47.28p daily standing charge. Electric only, no gas in my village.

I'm with Eon next flex tariff, was moved to them when my electricity company went bust last October.

I'm currently stuck on Bulb, no price lock.
Elec - standing charge 49.65p / day (almost double what it used to be), 27.84p/kWh
Gas -standing charge 27.22p / day, 7.34p / kWh (also about double what is used to be.

She may have same house but you have no idea what her usage is - she could be really wasteful or they could have set her DD at a really high rate.

I fixed mine last September and I was starting to wonder what it would be so put my last years usage in and calculated it on current price cap as it's not actually as different as I had feared.

Electricity:
unit rate per kWh 28.46p
standing charge 43.39p
Gas:
unit rate per kWh 7.48p
standing charge 27.22p

It’s the default tariff with Good Energy, not a fix. We’re currently using around £45 a month. Our January usage at today’s prices would be £93, was £58 on the fix we had which ended in March.

38ppkwh.

farmer so on a business tariff for which there is no cap.

ToffeeForEveryone · 15/08/2022 17:06

Scottish Power, current two year tariff ends 31 Aug 2022. We'll be going on to the default rate for September and hoping for a political solution to this mess, as the only tariff they are currently offering us is eye-watering:

Current:
Electric: unit 17.10p; standing charge 24.36p
Gas: unit 3.42p; standing charge 26.16p

Available tariff:
Electric: unit 51.91p (303% increase) ; standing charge 43.88p
Gas: unit 17.09p (500% increase); standing charge 21.46p

OfficiallyBroken · 15/08/2022 17:08

Gas:
4.772p per kWh, Standing charge 33.248p per day
Electricity:
23.517p per kWh, Standing charge 33.318p per day

Thankfully we're fixed until next winter but looking at some of these prices it's going to be a hideous jump when the tariff ends 😒

FourTeaFallOut · 15/08/2022 17:08

Electric is 26.6p/kWh with 27p standing charge
Gas 6.4p/kwh and 26p standing charge

Fixed till March 24.

Hugasauras · 15/08/2022 17:12

We just fixed electricity only with Octopus. 40.54p during day and 7.5p between 0:30-4:30. We plan to schedule our washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer and anything else we can for that time to take advantage of the super cheap rate! Standing rate is 49.79p a day.

Gas is 7.33p and 27.22 standing rate but that's just the flex rate.

WhatHaveIFound · 15/08/2022 17:15

Electricity only here at 26.05p/kWh
Standing charge is 32.81 per day after Octopus discount

Finally someone asking a sensible question about fuel Prices.

STUPIDLY I didn't fix when I could have (when previous fix ended) as the saving was only £5 a year (above SVR) so it didn't seem worth the hassle ! [old GAS rate was 3.440 fix was offered at 4.169 sc 34.75/26.12]. So I have been kicking myself BUT thanks to you I've just realised that was only until Sept22! So I may have done myself a favour!!

however, when fuel prices increases started being talked about I looked into it, procrastinated FAR FAR too much but finally went fixed in about Jan/Feb on a plan that ends Dec 23.

elec 26.47 ppkWh (sc 25.483 pd)
gas 5.619 ppkWh (sc 27.494 pd)

£75 exit fee on each.
