Play dates

Hello!

Just wondering how often people do play dates in lower primary?

Do you have friends over to your house (without parents) or meet up with the parents and children together?

I've hosted a couple of play dates but tbh find it quite stressful, i prefer the meet ups with parents but presumably they stop as children get older (unless you're good friends with the other parents)?

Also during the week between my children there are various after school activities plus nights that I'm working so its not that easy to coordinate in term time.. But then i do feel guilty and wonder if i need to make it work somehow 🤔

My dc are 7&8 (so going into years 3&4) and last year between had friends over at least once a week. Dd has one friend over after school until a lesson they both do so that's once a week too. Ds has friends over less frequently, once a month or so. Usually we collect the friend from school and they stay at ours until after tea when we either drop them home or they get picked up.
