Question for MN, are posts removed without notification?

I’m sure I responded to a post yesterday, on the topic about ‘should social housing be temporary’ in AIBU. A poster stated they waited 9 years for a council property, even though they were very overcrowded, with 5 people in a one bedroomed flat. As an ex housing worker, I asked why. AFAIK my post was not abusive or offensive, so I’d like to know if and why it was removed, or am I simply imagining I ever wrote it!

Yes your posts can be removed without notification.

Seymour5 · 15/08/2022 07:34

Thank you. I’ve seen messages saying a post has been removed for a reason, though that was the norm.

Email and ask, they will usually tell you.

Thank you, I didn’t realise I could do that. Email sent.

I've just looked through that thread and whilst there are a few posts from you, there's no evidence you had a post removed. Your username would still show with the reason why your post had been removed.

Not necessarily; I reported a post the other day and when I went back to the thread the whole post is gone, username and all, like it was never there.

Thankyou, but as I said I posted yesterday. Nothing on the thread from yesterday, and I can’t remember the name of the poster I quoted.

i’ll leave it there.

This happened to me. I replied to a post, the other poster replied, I replied again, MN removed the other poster’s posts rather than deleting them and leaving a deletion message. It looked like I had had a conversation with myself.

WeAreTheHeroes · 15/08/2022 15:54

Well that's weird and I've never seen that. I stand corrected.

This was the thread. You can see my last post like I'm talking to myself but the post I was referring to is gone..

Would you go on a hen do (night out only) if you weren’t invited to the wedding? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4600336-would-you-go-on-a-hen-do-night-out-only-if-you-werent-invited-to-the-wedding
