Life changing very quickly… did it for you and if so how?

In a good or bad way!

I feel a bit like life is the same old all the time. People say oh it can change in a flash so enjoy the good parts while you can and equally always hope that better could be right round the corner. Some people say their lives were unrecognisable from one year to another.

I feel like my life is quite dull. I plod on, hoping to meet someone, travelling a lot and enjoying it but each year blurs into the last.

Personally I would just concentrate on enjoyable activities and quality hobby time. If you have spare time try to do some voluntary work. It will add richness to your life.

Not sure how old you are but there is very little on the market the older we get.

Absolutely. 6 years ago I was a single parent, doing ok for myself but nothing Groundbreaking. Now I’m remarried, earning over double what I was, have 2 young children and just moved to a fabulous new country.

Travelling a lot and enjoying it sounds bliss. Life changes a lot inevitably when you meet someone and have children but that constant change can be very relentless and tiring and a lot of the changes are out of your control and the result of compromise taking other peoples needs into account. The years whizz by at a pace and still blur but in a different way. Right now you have control over everything in your life (apart from meeting someone and having children which you can’t really control) so if you want change you are going to have to instigate it. Change is overrated though I think and there’s a lot to be said for just enjoying the moment, the small things you enjoy. Life happens when you’re making other plans is another way to look at it. Just enjoy the ride and see where it takes you.

One Saturday morning DH was sweeping leaves off the drive, later that day we went on a family trip to a local attraction, at 7.40 that evening he had a massive stroke which took his mobility and his speech. Life changes in the blink of an eye.
