Dog businesses

I currently work with dogs, hands-on and getting experience working independently with an array of breeds.

Since starting this job, I've loved the idea of starting a business involving working with dogs.

Dog walking would be ideal but there just seems to be so many starting up right now.

What would make a doggy business stand out to you? Any services you feel are missing right now?

My end goal is to get into dog training.

Where I live there is a shortage of doggy day care places. Most of the ones that do exist here offer training too

I'm a dog walker.

There is a huge lack of daycares and home boarding places, but you'll need qualifications and a council license, plus inspections etc. before you can offer this.

We have a nervous reactive dog. There are a few daycare/ overnight places near where we live but none of them are suitable as there are other dogs on the premises.
All the overnight boarders have their own dogs living there and our girl just couldn't cope with that.
So for us it would be a dog walker that understands reactive dogs, only walks one dog at a time, can handle overnight stays, and doesn't have their own dog there.

Daycare / home boarding and walking.

Yes there are lots but good ones are really hard to find.

There is certainly a shortage here. I was listening to someone trying to book home boarding for next year and the lady she was asking was booked up already for those dates.

Have you thought of doing breed specific dog boarding? These seem particularly popular.
