What hair colour would you say this is?

This was professionally done and asked for a strawberry blonde. My hair was light blonde BTW, so it's not like it wouldn't lift. I think it really suits me, so no reason to complain. I have booked another appointment for foils but I'm on the fence because either it was a happy mistake, or she's a total pro and decides that this would suit me a lot better.

What do the people you asked on Facebook or whatever that is say? Does it really matter what it's called if you like how it looks?

I would say ginger not strawberry blonde.

Well it matters in the sense that it's not what I asked for, and she said strawberry blonde is subjective. So my conundrum is that she might not understand what I want to achieve with the foils.

She's given you what you asked for. I think the picture you showed her and what you've got is very similar, albeit without the defined (stripey) highlights, but that's a good thing. The reference picture you've shown the hairdresser is towards the bolder and redder end of strawberry blonde IMO.

Ultimately strawberry blonde is a colloquialism not a precise shade. It's a combination of warm blonde and red shades.

I think you've got a shade which goes perfectly with your skin tone, which is darker than the woman in the inspo picture.

I did my hair strawberry blonde from light blonde and I remember when researching which colour I wanted, that there is a vast spectrum of colours that fit under the strawberry blonde umbrella.

It looks like she has picked such a shade of strawberry blonde that would flatter your darker, warmer skin!

I think she's done a great job given the picture you showed her! It looks very nice. Though iwould say strawberry blonde would be a bit blonder in my thoughts.

It’s strawberry blonde, but more on the auburn side than the blonde side. The reference photo has more noticeable lighter blonde tones. I’d also say there’s a tone of red in the reference pic that you don’t have.

It looks nice and it suits your skin tone, but then I also think some lighter tones put in with the foils would look good too.

I looked at your photo before reading your post and thought strawberry blonde straight away. I really like it.

Shes matched your inspo pretty well. The inspo picture has better blonde highlights it but you have to consider that could have taken considerably longer.

And tbh if you've shown them a picture they'll try and capture that sort of colour no matter what you call it

It does look ginger. Get some bleach foils to lighten it up like the inspiration pic. And use a good conditioning masque.
