I thought match was free but you can't actually message anyone without paying!

I’m on Bumble and its much better than POF tbh. I was put off by having to message first but actually it saves you getting messages off hideous old munters

You can definitely message on bumble without paying. You swipe, and then if you match you have 24 hours to send them a message or they get unmatched. Feels a bit of a pressure but it’s good, otherwise you’d match and then let it slip while you keep swiping! Having a deadline is a good incentive to move things along.

Some men apparently swipe right on everyone (or lots at least) and then when you match they’ll decide whether or not to bother replying. There are prompt questions in case you can’t think of anything good to say!

The men on there are much better looking and more eloquent than POF by a long shot. I’ve never used Tinder as I remember it being more for hook ups. I know it’s changed lately and lots of people meet partners on there but I can’t shake off that feeling about it. Give bumble a go.
