Have you done something you cringe about years later?

I have one which I really really cringe each time I remember it.

I grew up in a northern working class type household in the 90s so delicacies were things like… vienetta (this paints the scene).

When I was about 19/20 i was dating a Spanish guy who was a few years older than me who I met at uni and he clearly had much more
broadened food tastes.

He took me out for tapas and we ordered prawns. I was happy with this as I knew I definitely liked prawns. However, it was the first time I’d been served shell on prawns.

I didn’t know this was a thing so I ATE THE SHELL. He was like ‘you know you’re supposed to remove the shell?’ and me, being a knob head and not wanting to look like a fool, insisted I liked the shell?!

Honestly it makes me want to curl into a ball every-time I remember.

Has anyone got any light hearted cringes to share the pain?

I legitimately thought a Gucci changing bag was worth the splurge. What a T**t I was. I die thinking about it.

Loads of things, mainly people I've slept with, but we all make mistakes so I don't beat myself up about it.

Yes. We were sold a really dodgy car, like really dodgy. We were quite young and it didn’t even have a V5 although they said they would ‘get one for us’. Unsurprisingly they didn’t, even after several phone calls. We ended up having to order one from the DVLA and collect at the Post Office.

Anyway, after one frustrating call, where the junior answered giving me bullshit and I asked to speak to the owner, I screeched ‘i want to speak to the organ grinder, not the monkey’ 🤦‍♀️ He just
paused and said ‘that’s rude’ before hanging up on me 😆

Back in the seventies when I was working (seventeen years old) I had a huge crush on a work colleague and wrote him a letter declaring my feelings (he barely knew me). It turned out he had a gf and wasn’t interested anyway but I had to face him every day at work. I can still cringe so badly over the whole embarrassing thing. God I’d never be seventeen again 🥴
