How do you manage all your store cards?

I've a separate wallet for them usually and only take if it I know I'm going shopping. Typically, I can't find the one for the shop I want to go to today. Do you download the app for each individual store so that you have loads of stuff on your phone or can you read them all into a single app (which one?) to show in store?

I didn't think store cards was a thing anymore. They were notorius for having a high apr and most chain stores have closed down now. I have a John Lewis card and use it for all my spending as get vouchers.

dementedpixie · 13/08/2022 08:06

Do you mean loyalty cards?
I have some that are key fobs and others on their app on the phone

KangarooKenny · 13/08/2022 08:07

I prefer cards as I hate messing with my phone at the till.

bestbefore · 13/08/2022 08:09

Put them all in apple wallet, don't even need your purse then!

GetOffTheRoof · 13/08/2022 08:09

I scanned all mine on my Android phone into the "Wallet" app. Then just scan the barcodes in the app at the till instead of the physical card.

i keep loyalty cards in the ‘wallet’ app of iPhone. Very easy. A few stores you have to download the app instead

ShakespearesSisters · 13/08/2022 08:14

I use Samsung pay. All my loyalty cards are on it so I can just scan at the till.
I've used this to scan my library card, driving licence, covid vax card etc too so I have a record all together.
I rarely take my purse these days, just my phone as all on there.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 13/08/2022 08:17

As above, loyalty cards are on my phone in the apple wallet and I use them from my Apple Watch so don't have to even turn the phone on just double tap my watch, scroll to the card and wave my wrist at the scanner.

Purpleavocado · 13/08/2022 08:18

I use the keyrings. I might try putting mine on Google pay though

ShirleyPhallus · 13/08/2022 08:20

I realised that they barely give anything back so don’t bother with most of them anymore!

the only decent ones IMO are nectar cards, Tesco club card and boots card

marmiteloversunite · 13/08/2022 08:20

I use the Stocard app. When I had physical cards I used a hole punch (avoiding the strip/numbers) and put them all on one keyring.

Luciey · 13/08/2022 08:20

I have also scanned all my loyalty card into the wallet app on my phone. Super quick when checking out to scan my loyalty card then flick to my credit card for payment.

Paperdolly · 13/08/2022 08:25

And it’s those cafe loyalty cards that get my goat. Get a hole punch or a signature each time. Buy 10 get one free. Is it worth stuffing your wallet with tatty cards to get a free coffee?

StandUpPirates · 13/08/2022 08:34

Yes, in that case I mean loyalty cards! @Paperdolly I hate those but if I get rid of the loyalty cards I can fit 2 or 3 in the same slot.

I use the Stocard app. So much easier than rooting around in my wallet

Spaghettio · 13/08/2022 09:10

I use Stocard too. And I've loaded it onto my husbands phone so When he goes to boots/tescos it all goes onto one card.

Michellebops · 13/08/2022 09:56

I use Stocard app too! It's great as since Covid I don't bother taking my purse out

SpikeyHatePotato · 13/08/2022 10:06

Another one for Stocard.

before that I used to get the key fob sized ones and put them all on a key ring which was great until I accidentally dropped it into a bin… and then I got Stocard!

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 13/08/2022 10:27

Google wallet user here - so handy, and a lighter purse.

Sonnex · 13/08/2022 10:29

Google wallet here too. Costa still give you a free drink after awhile which I like!

BashfulClam · 13/08/2022 10:30

Mine are in my i-phone wallet next to my bank cards. I just open the wallet app when I need it.

GetUpAndGone · 13/08/2022 10:31

I have an app called Shopmium, you can upload all your loyalty cards onto it but it also gives you 100% free products in store and discounts off products.

If anyones interested in checking it out they can get a free can of pringles if they download the app and use my referral code ACUCHCMW 😊

www.shopmium.com/uk/referral/ACUCHCMW

Disclaimer: I do get a reward when you use my code, but it is worth getting. I check it every time I go shopping.

I only use nectar and boots. I have declined all the others. Sparks in particular took more effort to use than any payback.

Having said that, I have some sh1t in my wallet that needs to be stored better: specs prescription (card sized), Costa card, driving licence, Prof membership card, NHS medical exemption card, 4 bank cards, work credit card, my credit card. Would be an arse to lose my purse.

GinasGirl · 13/08/2022 10:54

I also use Stocard, so much better than carrying all those cards around.

StandUpPirates · 13/08/2022 11:44

Hmmmm ok. How do I get them into the iPhone wallet?
I tried get and scan code but it doesn't recognise a bar code.
I tried the plus in the top right hand corner but that only gives the option of a credit/debit card or a travel card.
