Velux blinds

I need to order Velux roller blinds for a bedroom roof extension but I'm not sure what colour. It says they all block the same amount of light but surely black is more effective than white? Which colour would you recommend, wise Mumsnetters?

Ours (>10 years old) are silvered on the window side and white on the room side. Even longer ago we had one which had a nice pattern of stars on the room side.

Ours are thermal velux blinds so 100% blackout, they come in lots of colours ours are pink/purple
