Head of some electric business said we need a social tariff.

That fixed amount won’t cover the January rise

The Tories couldn't care less as long as they make profits for their rich shareholders. The profits of BP and She'll are beyond belief. People who can't afford these increases - and there's a lot of us - will be cold and go hungry - you can already tell the difference between rich and poor kids. There'll probably be civil unrest in November. But the Tories have covered this by getting more police and handing out Tasers. I'm a pensioner and TBH this rise in fuel bills will probably kill me as I won't be able to heat my home and will die of cold. The Tories won't care, it'll be cheaper for them. Anyone with any conscience on this site, please don't vote Tory is all I can say!

The biggest problem with our energy and fuel providers is that in most cases the majority shareholders (who have a controlling interest) are large overseas corporations who are more than happy to bleed us dry. And they know that we know that we have to let them, because they can - literally - pull the plug on us any time they like.

And there's diddly squat anyone can do about it.
