Air bnb

My first time with the kids in an air bnb in a week. We are having a seaside holiday. If you are an air bnb owner or are well versed in the etiquette of using air bnbs how should I leave the place? Obvs it'll be well cleaned. Do I strip the beds? Put a wash on or just load the machine? Leave my extras (teabags ketchup etc) or bin everything? Leave a bottle of wine? Clean out the fridge? How do you like to leave a place, or have your place left?

They should leave guidance on how they expect it left. Did you pay a cleaning fee?

Beetlewings · 11/08/2022 20:15

Ah ok. Yes cleaning fee was included in the price. It's hardly going to get filthy but I'll give it a go over with whatever tools they have of course. I'd hate for them to think I'm a slob

I vacuum, wipe down surfaces and leave it superficially clean and tidy. So wipe out the sinks/bath/shower, make sure the loos aren't grim. We stripped our beds and left the sheets in front of the washing machine last time because they asked but I haven't always.

Same as above. Make sure nothing is disgusting! Strip beds and leave bedding wherever directed or on beds folded. Rubbish emptied. Any leftover food I’m always unsure. If it’s unopened then I tend to leave it. Anything open I take or bin.

Oh yes, all rubbish gone. And I put the dishwasher on. I don't do washing up on holiday so if you're one of those people who get annoyed about the dishwasher taking too long, you can cut your time down from six hours between changeovers. Or just open it and do it yourself.
