Would you go to a water park on your period?

That that really.

Have plans with my SIL and nephews to go to a water park this weekend but have just come on (poor planning on my part really). Thoughts?

Just that really* sorry for typo!

yes of course. I use tampons rather than pads though.

StandUpPirates · 11/08/2022 17:08

Yes, of course. Wearing appropriate sanpro, taking a load of painkillers and warning SIL I might be a little short-tempered!

00100001 · 11/08/2022 17:10

Just use tampons. It's fine.

SirChenjins · 11/08/2022 17:10

Unless I was on a very light day, no - because I don't get on with tampons and my perimenopausal periods are very heavy. Depends on how heavy your periods are etc.

biggreenhouse · 11/08/2022 17:11

with a mooncup or tampon yes

GCAcademic · 11/08/2022 17:12

Surely that depends on how heavy your periods are and what kind of protection you use? I flood through a mooncup and heavy duty pad, so wouldn't. But when I was in my 20s and could get by with changing a tampon every 4 hours or so, then yes I would have.

Strugglingtodomybest · 11/08/2022 17:13

I would and have.

35965a · 11/08/2022 17:14

Tampon in, some paracetamol and ibuprofen and go for it. My periods are really heavy so Id probably be running to the loo every so often to check I wasn’t leaking so not fun but still doable.

HSKAT · 11/08/2022 17:14

I have in the past, it was my first day though so not as heavy, I wouldn't of been able to on second day of period

Luxa · 11/08/2022 17:18

What is putting you off OP?

Lemon1822 · 11/08/2022 17:32

I would at an absolute push but wouldn’t be ideal by any stretch of the imagination 😂😂 I enjoy water parks but would be a bit paranoid. Equally tampons and also period swimwear is supposed to be brilliant- you could use both then you’ll definitely be fine!

What is putting you off OP?

I'm not sure really. I usually use pads so feel a bit iffy about a tampon and leakage. Also not sure I will be able to fully relax as will be constant checking myself or going to change. Plus I'm already moody and crampy/cranky in this heat Blush

Reassuring to know plenty of us have done it before though!

Of course, my Mooncup only needs emptied once every 24 hours and in between I don't even think about it at all.

DinosaurPotato · 11/08/2022 17:44

Not a chance. Some of these comments make me jealous!

TheRookie · 11/08/2022 17:45

Is it a water park with rides or a swimming pool water park?

If you don't use tampons, you can't really swim but otherwise surely it's just like being anywhere while on your period? I'd probably use a night time pad, take plenty spares and wear dark shorts.

MissMaple82 · 11/08/2022 17:47

Allmarbleslost · 11/08/2022 17:07

yes of course. I use tampons rather than pads though.

'Rather than pads'? You can't use pads for swimming!

Sunshineandflipflops · 11/08/2022 17:48

Yes, with my mooncup, although I’m jealous of the above poster who only needs to empty theirs every 24 hours! Maybe on my last day or so but other wise every 4 hours or so.

Rickrollme · 11/08/2022 17:51

Sure why not? Pop in a tampon or better yet a cup and don’t think twice about it.

How does that work in either scenario?

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 11/08/2022 17:57

Yes I would go and use my cup which holds loads. I would prob double up with period swimwear too just for peace of mind. I take my son to the pool on my period haven't had any issues

LilacSky95 · 11/08/2022 17:57

I've been swimming and to water parks with my moon cup in, it's amazing!

familyissues12345 · 11/08/2022 18:00

'Rather than pads'? You can't use pads for swimming!'

@MissMaple82 , I don't think she meant that, I think she meant that she's used to Tampons so she wouldn't have an issue swimming...

Pieceofpurplesky · 11/08/2022 18:04

Tampon and period swimwear (can get them from Amazon)
