With my customary brilliant timing I've got tickets booked for the London Eye at midday this Sunday, just when it should lovely and hot Hmm
We live in the Midlands so although we can reschedule it it would mean another long weekend break, which is fine, but would prefer to go thos weekend if possible.
So mnetters- will we melt?

You'll melt on some of the hotter underground lines like the Bakerloo and Central so here's a couple of hopefully helpful links.

Thanks I'm planning to avoid the tube wherever possible. I work in London from time to time so am reasonably familiar with the city and am planning to walk as much as possible. Would rather do that with frequent drink / ice cream stops than go on the tube in those temperatures!

I'm not sure about the London Eye. I had a similar situation though. I was offered a ticket for the Arsenal game (3pm Saturday at The Emirates stadium). I declined 😥

That walking tube map is actually brilliant I've set it to my work phone for when I'm next in town. Love a good walk through a busy city

We were in London 2 weeks ago and planned to go on the London Eye. We didn’t for 2 reasons - the cost is extortionate, and the queue is ridiculous. We were told it would be about 1 1/2 hours to get to the front of the queue. It’s not in the shade, you can’t sit down, it’s awful!

@Crunchymum oh all of those sweaty bodies no thanks 🤢 London Eye us theoretically air conditioned, but also its a glass bubble...

@Soontobe60 we have fast track tickets so I'm not too worried about the queues, just the inside of it!

I was on the London Eye at the start of July - the temp was about 24 degrees, but I'm sure the pod was air-conditioned. I was worried with the sun and everything, but I didn't melt and I'm a pale Scot who doesn't really do well in the heat!
The queueing was mental though and we had booked, we completed the ride an hour and a half after booking time if that helps.
It was great though, we really enjoyed it!
