Hi we are staying in Gran Canaria soon for a week.
Our hotel is 6 mins drive to Maspalomas and 7 mins drive to Playa Del Ingles
Can anyone recommend either place?
Looking for a nice beach, nice restaurants,a nice view etc

If you have a car you should also call into Patalavaca - lovely little beach.

Also visit Playa de la Verga (Anfi del Mar)

Both within 20 mins to Playa del Ingles. Playa del Ingles has pockets of ‘Brits abroad’ (Bulldog Pub for a Sunday roast, anyone?) so be careful which part you drive to if that’s not your cup of tea. However, it is possible to get some nice seafood at places and their are family run spots serving traditional Spanish food.

Looking for a nice beach, nice restaurants,a nice view etc Alternatively you could go to Amadores Beach Club for the day.

Thankyou well originally we booked Puerto Rico but I wasn't keen on how most restaurants seemed to be in the commercial centre and the other shopping centre.
I prefer restaurants along the sea front
It felt a bit Benidorm (no offence to people who like Benidorm -just not really us )
Anfi del mar looks beautiful

Yeah Puerto Rico is not nice and very Benidorm (sorry for anyone going) so you made a good choice there. However, parts of Playa del Ingles also definitely had that feel too. Maspalomas isn’t like that.

Also the places I mentioned above are also on the bus route and very accessible.

I stayed in Playa del Ingles about 10 years ago not my cup of tea and wouldn't go back again.
Did spend the day at Maspalomas which was completely different and I would go back there.

Oh fab think we will stick to Maspalomas.
We are staying at Maspalomas& Tabiba princess which looks decent.
First holiday abroad since covid so cant wait.

Meloneras promenade is a nice walk and has lots of restaurants plus a lighthouse, and you can get onto the beach.

Hugasauras · 11/08/2022 09:39

Oh there's also an outdoor cinema nearby that serves pizza and stuff.

Cookiedough123 · 11/08/2022 10:11

I was also going to say meloneras. There is a long strip of restaurants and its a lovely walk along the sea front. Just found it very expensive to eat there! We went to the yumbo centre for tea once or twice. Not everyone's cup of tea (Google it) but me and my boyfriend had our best night out there watching a show and having cheap drinks and a dance! Depends what you fancy. We also went to a lovely spa - a thalasso? Where we used thr facilities and then had a massage. Another highlight was a boat trip we went on the Africat but I can imagine any boat trip is good. The rest of the time we spent lounging by the pool and at maspalomas beach which is beautiful.

Hugasauras · 11/08/2022 10:14

There's a lovely Italian in Meloneras - Time. The owner (assuming it hasn't changed hands) is a v friendly guy who loves to chat about his time working in Scotland (and ply you with limoncellos!).

Hi op I have stayed on this hotel before also, we would walk into Maspalomas and get a taxi back. Maspalomas has some nice shopping and restaurants which are much nicer so would recommend.

onedayatatimerr · 11/08/2022 10:25

@GreenIsle oh fab
We weren't sure to book a room in the Maspalomas or tabiba side of hotel but went with the later as apparently the rooms are nicer
Hopefully it's a nice view
